As part of Self-Growth Sunday this week I thought I’d write about Katie Freiling – as when it comes to self-growth she is a bit of a goddess. She is a pro blogger, coach, speaker and is committed to creating a global shift through the online work that she does. She works on transforming other entrepreneurs from the ‘inside out’, and her energy is amazing.

Katie Freiling has gone from being significantly in debt to now earning over $500k a year from simply doing what she loves – just being herself and sharing her thoughts and wisdom from her blog. She also is committed to helping other people do the same!

Katie Freiling is the oldest of 6 children in her family, and like so many of us (including me) felt extremely shut down throughout her schooling years. Katie loved performing throughout her school years (dancing, cheerleading, acting) and later went to college in San Diego. She later travelled to Las Vegas where she worked as a waitress for two years earning some great money. Katie wanted to create an abundance of money to have an easier lifestyle, and so as to not stress about money like she had watched her parents do so much when she was younger.

Katie left Las Vegas as it began to feel extremely shallow and meaningless for her, and she wanted to get back in touch with her true self again. She wanted to make a difference in the world, and didn’t feel she was doing that there. With all the money she had earned in Vegas she then put that into a commercial real estate development and unfortunately lost it all with the terrible real estate crash which occurred back then. Katie found herself in a position where she had lost all her money, and was actually in $30k debt!

Having no job, no skills and no safety net, Katie Freiling hit rock bottom! She tried going back to university for a semester, however the thought of a job working for someone else with limited income potential just to survive didn’t appeal to her in any way. Katie also had no idea what her passion was, and was finding it hard to figure out what to do. Katie Freiling was forced to do some serious soul searching during this time, and began doing yoga and meditation and wanted to open a yoga and healing centre for women in San Diego.

A friend of Katie Freiling’s offered her the chance to join a health network marketing opportunity and the thought of creating passive income to fund her healing centre dream jumped out at her instantly. Unfortunately Katie didn’t see any results at all offline, and so began to browse online and discovered internet marketing.

Katie Freiling came across Johnathan Budd and ended up leaving her opportunity to actually join him in his business and put another $3,000 on her credit card to do it. Katie didn’t hesitate for a second as in her heart, it just felt right.

Katie Freiling bought a $60 webcam from Best Buy, and began facing her childhood fears as she began making videos of herself. People began finding them on YouTube and calling her asking about her business opportunity. After a few months Katie began making a few thousand dollars a month and hit 5 figures a month after being online for only 6 months!! Awesome!

Katie Freiling was not passionate about what she was selling with this opportunity, and so decided to join another one. She also felt unhappy with this opportunity because decisions were being made that were out of her control as a distributor within the company. This was the catalyst for her to begin focusing on and improving her ‘personal brand’.

In April 2009 Katie launched www.katiefreiling.com and focused on giving continual solid value to her list of subscribers. Her new goal was to focus on branding herself and creating HER OWN audience. With her own brand Katie realised she had potential for unlimited creativity, and unlimited wealth potential!!

Katie Freiling posted twice a week, and it wasn’t long before she had dozens of leads coming in totally free, because of the continual value that she was putting out there. She had built a viral word of mouth marketing system which was generating her free leads, with the constant value she was giving driving it all!
