Are you looking for advice or direction on how to visualize properly? Many different self-help coaches and gurus say to ‘visualize to materialize’– however they often lack proper instructions on how to actually do this effectively and powerfully. The truth is that most people don’t visualise correctly.
How To Visualise: The Power Of Visualisation.
Some psychologists believe that one hour of visualisation is worth seven hours of physical effort. This is a massive claim, however I’m sure you get the point. Because your sub-conscious mind literally cannot tell the difference between what is real and what is imaginary, the more you think about and imagine the things you want – the harder your sub-conscious mind will actually work for you to make it a reality.
“Imagination is more important than knowledge.” Albert Einstein
There is a magic which is constantly going on right behind our eyes all the time. We are all responsible for these images we create in our minds, however the majority of people simply don’t realise it. The coolest thing about this ‘movie in the background’ is that we can directly influence it so that we are ALWAYS the star in our own show. When this movie of us being the ‘star’ is playing in our minds, there is absolutely nothing ANYONE can do to convince us otherwise. It’s so powerful!!
When you get a ‘high’ from visualisation– YOU WILL KNOW IT’S HAPPENING. Your actions are almost like they are not you as you become a focused powerhouse taking MASSIVE ACTION. It is EXTREMELY POWERFUL. This is how you visualise properly, and what most genius’ understand and use. We all have an inner genius however the majority of us just choose to not realise this, or simply just don’t want to believe it.
Remember your brain LOVES images – so pictures of the things you want or want to be experiencing on a board or poster are an absolute must. A lot of people get this far, however they never get the full benefit from their images because they don’t follow these few simple steps:
How To Visualise Step 1: Relax.
Find a bean bag or comfortable chair to really relax in while doing your visualisation. Take long deep breaths and really connect with your inner self. Focus on your breathing while you visualise if you can. I highly recommend meditation or prayer before you start visualising to really help yourself drop into a highly relaxed state. You will find the time you spend visualising will be much more powerful if you can relax yourself as much as possible. Visualising while you are in a bad mood or irritated will just not work so never do it if you are feeling that way.
How To Visualise Step 2: Do It.
Only when you are completely relaxed should you begin visualising. Look at your goals and dreams. Imagine yourself in them. Hear the sounds. Taste the tastes. Touch the things. Smell the smells. See your dreams!
Vividly and powerfully imagine yourself experiencing your dream life. Don’t just stare at your pictures – EXPERIENCE THEM! See yourself living that life. Feel yourself in your future which you have created. Believe it is already yours. Feel all your goals achieved!
VISUALISE JUST BEFORE GOING TO BED, AND FIRST THING AS SOON AS YOUR FEET HIT THE GROUND. Doing it before bed lets your sub-conscious mind work on your goals while you’re sleeping! How easy is that?! Did you know that the first 6 minutes from when you wake up are the most powerful for creating your day – so influence your subconscious mind with visualisation in this 6 minute window!! Just try it, and watch what happens…
How To Visualise Step 3: Take MASSIVE action!
“I would visualize things coming to me. It would just make me feel better. Visualization works if you work hard. That’s the thing. You can’t just visualize and go eat a sandwich.” Jim Carrey
Jim told Oprah this on her show. Take his advice. He understood this power and look where it took him. You’re no different than him. GET TO WORK!!
How to Visualise Step 4: Repeat!
How to visualise in the most powerful way, I believe, is directly linked to how often you do it. The more you do it, the more you are strengthening the neural pathways in your brain that this is where you are going, and what you are about to achieve.
I personally know a lot of people who have made vision boards, however don’t use them every day. They’re kind of just like a poster in their room. The funny thing I noticed is that these same people are also the ones who have pieces of gym equipment in their homes which don’t get any use. These people truly do have the best intentions – however never actually do anything about it. Your visualisation is like a muscle which will get stronger with more use. But like everything in life, you’ve got to put in the effort to reap the rewards.
The truth is people are lazy. 99% of people will never put in the effort. People really fail to see that visualisation is the magic link to the things you want which would change your life. It’s not ‘hard’ – it’s just that you have to be committed to doing it every day. I suppose it really comes down to how badly you want your dreams to be a reality??
